Here is a painting I did for my daughter, Mae.
The Lion is symbolic of one of Jesus’ names where He is called ‘The Lion of the Tribe of Judah’ and presents power, authority and His Kingship. It is finished in silver and gold. Silver signifies ‘Redemption’, Gold signifies ‘knowledge, wisdom and faith’.
The backdrop is of the universe which He created and He is declaring it into existence.
When painting this I got a sense of who God is calling Mae to be. She is fierce in terms of injustice and boldness in speaking out on behalf of others. This Lion, this ROAR, will one day rise up within her and set many people free.
She may not agree with my thoughts on this just yet, but she does however love the painting and it is currently hanging in her bedroom above her bed.
